Willem van Genk is back in home town The Hague, in Holland. He is largely represented in the Outsider Art exhibit in Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. Ten major works in mixed media give an overview of the artistic career of Van Genk. He grew up there and has lived there until his very last breath. His criticism on the city of Den Haag is one of the main subjects in his painting Zelfportret Zwakzinnigennazorg, from 1978. Several small drawings and cut-outs of his early drawings from the collection of Museum Dr. Guislain are also on show.
