Michel Nedjar, Introspective in LaM, 24/02/17 upto 04/06/17

Michel Nedjar (1947, Soisy-sous-Montmorency) occupies a very distinct place in the history of the LaM, as a founding member of L’Aracine, as a benefactor and as an artist, with the museum holding over three hundred of his works as well as a considerable part of his library and archives.

The exhibition “Michel Nedjar, introspective”, a retrospective spanning more than forty-five years of creation (1960–2016), orchestrates an unprecedented dialogue between the various aspects of his work – sculptures (dolls, low-reliefs and objects), graphic works, paintings and films. The exhibition will follow a chronological path to include theme-based sections dealing with subjects such as his childhood and primitivism, Eros and Thanatos, magic, devotional objects and travel.

Nedjar, Sans titre, 2008, stitched objects, 38x43x48cm.
